Things just are not working for me today. Camera/Human malfunction...
So, I got this cool vintage camera. 35mm Belomo Vilia manual. Russian camera. Holga is cool but the 120 costs a boat load of money for film and developing and the 35mm has no character. Also the holga shuuter speed and f/stop are fixed.. so, on an overcast day you are screwed...
Back to the Belomo. I have printed out a zone chart for exposures. Sets a number based on available light then you use another chart to figure out f/stop and shutter speed. Has really made me think about each picture. I have also been logging all my photos so I can review the results against the settings.
What went wrong you ask...?
Well the film counter wasn't advancing so I was wondering if I was actually taking any pictures. To find out I opened the camera ina camera bag and felt to see if it was winding....
Couldn't really tell so, I figured I would just wait until I got home. Yeah I checked it on the train while waiting to leave the station...
Closed the camera went to advance the film away from my fingerprinted frame and ..... stuck. The film was stuck. Crap!
So, I wound it up and I'll have it developed....
The kicker is now I'm out of 35mm film! I have a boat load of 120 film but, you already know the problems there. Anyway that's how I ended my fun day in the city.
Home now for dinner and sleeping and then I'll get up and try again.
