Tornado or micro-burst hit our street. A fence door was picked up from 2 houses down and smashed into our gargage and took out a support. Luck it didn't hit our cars or house. Could of easily been thrown thru our bay window. Also the two large trees in our front yard lost branches which fell on our porch and also look to have hit the house and causes a hole in the siding.

Power is still out but everyone is okay. We stayed in the basement until the storm passed with candles listening to the radio.

It's apparent from the content of recent posts and lack of any personal posts in some time that I have fallen out of love with my blogger blog. It's not me. I'm still the same. I'm taking pictures everyday, I'm online everyday, I'm posting everyday, I still have nothing to say BUT, the blogger app just hasn't kept up with me. Neither have my mobile phones.

The problems started when blogger's email to post functionality became unpredictable. Emailing a post only to have it lost in the ether is frustrating and when it happens you don't want to post it again. The moment is lost.

At the same time my new mobile phones have not been up to the task of writing posts. The sidekick which I started with blog with was the perfect machine for blogging. It has a nice size keyboard with just the right feel. Since then I have gone thru 2 Android phones and my current phone using a touch screen keyboard which is fine for short messages but which is not so much fun for longer posts. Yes I swype but to continually need to select the word I just swyped really kills the flow.

I had hoped with the Android Market I would find a blogger app to help me with my loss of love for blogger and an app is now finally available. However, the way it treats images is awful. It shrinks them and they are not clickable and there are other issues. I'm also stuck with the touch screen keyboard.

To add to the lacking need for my blog there is now facebook, twitter, wordpress and any number of other outlets where I post my nonsense making the blogger blog less important. It has become more of a dinosaur. This blog was created in a pre-social media world... hmmmm

What to do with this site. what to do?
To be honest I don't know. I would like to migrate it to wordpress where I can host it and use the Wordpress app for Android to keep it current however, the videos will be lost and maybe some images.

There is a new sidekick on the market now so I might check that out but, for now this site is UNDER CONSIDERATION...

Riders taking part in the Giro d'Italia are today to pay a moving tribute to fellow racer Wouter Weylandt, who died in a crash yesterday. Weylandt's Leopard Trek team-mates are to be allowed to cross the finish line ahead of the peloton in a stage dedicated to his memory.

“This is not a day for fighting for positions,” pink jersey wearer David Millar explained before the start in Genoa. The teams will take it in turns to pace the peloton for 10km at a time at speed of 37-40kph. With 1km to go, Millar will give the signal to the remaining eight Leopard Trek riders to move to the front.

After the stage, there will be no post-race protocol or jersey presentations. Instead, the Leopard Trek riders will come on to the podium as part of a further dedication to Weylandt’s memory. There were moving scenes before the start in Genoa. A special fenced-off space was reserved for the Leopard Trek team bus, and riders filed through one by one to offer condolences to the team’s riders and staff.

Electronic music pioneer Max V. Mathews died a few days ago at the age of 84. While at BELL Labs in the 1950s, Matthews developed MUSIC, the first popular computer program for generating sound. The multimedia visual programming language Max/MSP was named in part for Mathews. From Wikipedia:

This testimony is important! We have future elections! Have they 'earned' our trust?

Far too many things are judged in the court of public opinion, then we just move along. Can we move along, when we hear the truth and nothing but the truth, stating our voting machines can be hacked?

Has this been covered by our media? I hadn't heard this damning testimony. Facts matter. The 'truth' matters more. If our voting machines are hackable, it should be addressed today. After the next election 'is' too late.

How can one move along to something so wrong?

In a rousing testimony in front of the Iowa House of Representatives on Tuesday. Zack Wahls spoke out against a resolution which would end civil unions in Iowa by describing his own experience as the son of two lesbian partners.

"Our family really isn't so different from any other Iowa family," said Wahls. "When I am home, we go to church together, we eat dinner, we go on vacations."

Wahls emphasized the typical nature of his upbringing, as well as his own success. He is an Eagle Scout and a small business owner. He also scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT. "If I was your son, Mr. Chairman, I believe I would make you very proud," he said.

Wahls, a sixth-generation Iowan, finished his testimony on an impassioned note. "In my 19 years not once have I ever been confronted by an individual who realized independently that I was raised by a gay couple," he said. "And you know why? Because the sexual orientation of my parents has had zero effect on the content of my character."

Floyd Landis. Floyd told everyone he was innocent and even collected money from his fans for his legal defense only to come out and admit he cheated. Then after not being allowed to get his own way he lashes out at Lance, the UCI, and the entire peloton.

Feeling funny last night

Okay so my picture never made it up with is typical of blogger these days but, it's not the important I guess.

So, some of you may know I started a new diet/way of eating/ and it's about cutting carbs to as low as I can and eating less. Sounds tasty right. Well not really.

Anyway after almost two weeks of eating like this (with some success in terms of weight loss and energy levels) I felt weird. My ears got really hot and I just felt strange. I didn't want to stand up and I didn't want to lay down. My thoughts were cloudy and something was just wrong. My assumption is I am not eating enough and at the same time my body is learning to run on ketone rather than glucose.

Solution: Eat more and add back a few "good" carbs to offset this feeling and take it slow. I am having success and there is no need to rush this. I need to find a way of eating that works in the long term.

Feeling better now.
Back to work.
